Derestivo was founded in New York in 1999 by Mother-Daughter team, Daniela Restivo Delaney and Elissa Restivo.

Derestivo originally created a patented convertible handbag. The bag was manufactured in Italy using Italian leathers. It is a beautiful handbag to be worn as is or with a seamless panel that covers the body of the bag using Velcro under flaps on the top of the bag. The possibilities are endless with the paneled bag. It lets the wearer become the designer. Just pick a panel to fit your mood. In 2000 the Derestivo paneled bag was featured in the Washington D.C. Museum of Women in The Arts.

In 2002 the Derestivo team helped create a luxury line of cosmetics bags for Bobbi Brown Inc.

After taking the last decade off to start a family, in 2014 Daniela of Derestivo created the first ever HYBRID cosmetic clutch. The HYBRID cosmetic clutch is a luxe cosmetic bag or day to evening clutch on the pulse of fashion.

The idea came from the many times the designer’s were on holiday and would take their cosmetics bag to dinner as a clutch. Daniela updated the cosmetics bag by adding wristlets and or hand straps. The interior is stain resistant nylon. The exterior materials are leathers and calf hair. All bags are manufactured in Italy using Italian leathers.

Additionally, tote bags and clutch handbags were added to the line.

Daniela’s thought was to create a small capsule of ‘always necessary handbags.’ Totes, and clutches made out of unique materials such as Stamped Crocodile, metallic Napa leathers and printed calf hair.

As a Mother of 3, Daniela deems it necessary to have a functional tote while maintaining a fashion-forward design. As such, Derestivo designs are relevant in high -fashion and still functional.

Daniela attributes her sense of style and creativity to her lineage. Her maternal Great-grandfather was a costume designer to Hollywood stars. He created a wedding gown for the silent screen actress Mary Pickford for her wedding to Douglas Fairbanks. Her maternal Grandfather was a manufacturer of high-end men’s shirts. Some noted clientele were Cary Grant and Perry Como. Her Mother and co-founder of Derestivo was a model for Tizianni in Rome, Italy during La Dolce Vita. One of the head designers was Karl Lagerfeld.

Partial proceeds from every bag are donated to the one love foundation.
